Illium is an asari -settled colony near the edge of the Terminus Systems. It serves as a cultural hub of the species, as well as an economic center for trade going in between the Terminus Systems and Citadel Space.

You'll need to talk to the Baria Frontiers clerk in order to settle things. The clerk is named Erinya, and she overheard your earlier conversation. Using the options under Investigate will reveal this information, and give you either the "That sounds personal" or "This is because they're human" option.
