Is it possible to fix a transmission

Maintenance work was completed and my vehicle drives like new. Staff were courteous and professional at all times, even taking the time to follow up with a phone call to make sure all was well.

Highly recommended. Very easy going and Shauna Anderson. Very easy going and professional. Did an amazing job on my brand new transmission. Thank you. Came in with a transmission U And. Came in with a transmission issue, fixed the problem and advised along the way as to what is happening, what went wrong etc, no one does that love their customer service and they really know what they doExtremely recommend.

Great service friendly and efficient. Bonnie Hall. Great service, they fixed my Dave Porter. Great service, they fixed my car very quickly and for a great price.

Very professional. Highly recommend! After visiting a few other Becky Mclennan. After visiting a few other shops I went to Mister Transmission for the free diagnosis and wow am I glad I did. The other shops I went to quoted me several thousand dollars for the repair I needed. Dave was great to deal with and was able to fix my car for significantly cheaper than the other shops.

If you have car issues I highly recommend this location. You always just expect your car to start moving the moment you put it into drive. If it does not move, you could have problems with your transmission.

This issue could be coming from within the transmission system. You will most likely be facing a transmission repair if this happens. Burning Smell: If you are driving around your normal route and you start to smell something burning, you should stop driving and have a mechanic look at your transmission. You could have a fluid leak or low transmission fluid levels.

You can check the transmission dipstick to check the fluid levels. If you let this burning happen too long, you will need to repair your transmission which will cost you a lot of money.

Leaking Fluid: If you see red fluid under your vehicle, you probably have a transmission fluid leak. This could be coming from a gasket, a cooler line, or a seal. This is really bad for the transmission because the fluid will leak on the hot pipes and eventually damage the working parts of the system.

You will want to find the root problem of this leak very quickly. If the transmission fluid sits in there for too long, you will most likely need to repair your entire transmission. This is used to alert that there is some type of issue with your car.

You will want to investigate where the problem is coming from. This is nothing to ignore. Many individuals will automatically think it's the engine. The light will also turn on if you have problems with your transmission. This will include a slipping transmission, solenoid problems, or an overheating transmission. Make sure you detect the problem and seek help immediately. The light might be alerting you that you need to repair your transmission.

Buzzing Or Humming Noise: If you are driving and your car is making noises, that is not a good sign. It is not normal for your car to make sounds when you are driving. If you hear a clicking, buzzing, or humming sound, it is probably coming from your transmission.

This could be happening because of damaged gears or bad bearing. Additionally, if you have low transmission fluid you might hear that humming noise.

No matter what the problem is, this noise is alerting you something is wrong. You need to figure out what the problem is or you will potentially be facing a transmission repair in the future. Repairing a transmission is one of the most expensive jobs that a mechanic can perform.

Since the transmission is so essential to the function of the car, it costs a lot to fix. You have a few options when you are repairing a transmission. Now, these prices are just what it costs for the transmission. You will need to pay labor costs on top of that. It will take a mechanic anywhere from 4 to 10 hours to complete this job.

If you are looking to purchase a rebuilt system, the cost will be similar to replacing a transmission. It all depends on the amount of overall damage. The more expensive transmissions typically are for higher-end vehicles or they have come from a highly rated mechanic. The basic repair jobs will cost you the least amount of money. There are many different factors that play a role in how much it will cost to repair your transmission. It is dependent on the type of car you have, the type of transmission you purchase, and which mechanic you decide to use.

There are some ways you can cut costs when repairing a transmission. My dilemma is this…i am willing to pay for excellent quality, but a few years back, a friend of mine bought a factory engine and transmission lifetime warranty…ON PARTS for his old Chevrolet truck…but the engine failed after about six months he paid only labor to replace, which is a HUGE amount and about six months later, the transmission blew and he replaced it again as well.

The second engine blew a few months later, he replaced it again, only labor charges …you see where I am going right? HOW do I find a reputable rebuild shop for my engine and transmission? I want to be able to rebuild the engine and transmission and feel as though I have a reliable car, one I can take on a mile trip without worry. Is this possible? Dealership is saying it is not their fault.

Curious how much it would cost to replace the transmission sheer pin in a Chevy Vortec 6. I see Used, Reman and rebuilt transmissions available. Put vehicle in drive shifts good until goes Into overdrive then it slips and revs up the RPM. My transmission in Toyota sienna broke in August , after a week I came to pick up my car.

After rebuilding my transmission, the shop gave me 1 year of warranty. I left the shop again for 10 days and came to pick it up again. I drove 5 months, till December , and did on it 2, miles when transmission broke again. How the repair shop supposed to give me with the warranty, from the time I first time left my car in their shop August , or from the last time December for one year? I just got a new transmission in my Ford Flex.

The manufacturer of the transmission said to drive it miles so it can match the computer?? Does this sound like a load of bs to anyone else?? The shop said it wanted to drive my car another miles and I have refused. Please help. Am I being scammed?? Get Free Estimate. Inline Feedbacks. Joe Brandt. So I have a Carolla S manual Transmission.
