Why luke skywalker is the most powerful jedi
There are two major problems holding Shaak Ti back. The first was how close she came to finding out the secret of the chips in the clone troopers' brains. These chips would later be used to make Order 66 possible. Ti ultimately failed to suss out this information even though one trooper kept trying to show her the truth.
The second problem with Ti is that she chose to meditate while the Jedi Temple came under attack. There were countless Padawans struggling to survive the onslaught, but Ti elected to meditate until Darth Vader found her. Jocasta Nu is no ordinary librarian. She used to serve on the High Council before the Invasion of Naboo, and she was one of the few Jedi to survive the purge and the attack on the Temple.
She fled the Jedi Temple and began building up holocrons with information about the Jedi. She continued this work until Darth Vader himself had to hunt her down and end her progress and her life. It was Sifo-Dyas who ordered the building of the Clone Army. Sifo-Dyas had the gift of foresight, which should have made him a pretty powerful Jedi.
He foresaw a great battle in the future, so he decided to create an army for the Republic should they ever need it. It's too bad he couldn't see his own demise and subsequent takeover of the Clone Army by the Sith. Kanan Jarrus, previously known as Caleb Dume, is a pretty ordinary Jedi. If he hadn't gone through extraordinary circumstance, he may not be considered as strong a Jedi as he is.
As it is, Jarrus joined the Rebels, taught Ezra Bridger what he knew of the Force even though he was only a Padawan himself, and sacrificed his life to save his companions. Jarrus might not rank as the most powerful Jedi, but he accomplished much in his life that he should be proud of.
Plo Koon is considered an exceptional Jedi even though fans haven't yet seen very much from him that makes him stand out. He was the Jedi who found Ahsoka Tano and recognized her Force abilities. He brought her to the Jedi Order. When Order 66 was issued, Koon was in a starfighter. His clones pulled back and fired on him mid-flight, leaving Koon with little to no room to save himself.
Did you know that Koon's mask helps him breathe in oxygenated environments? Ezra Bridger is one of those hot-headed apprentice types , but he stands out among Jedi for dabbling in the Dark Side and coming back from it. Since the Empire destroyed Bridger's parents, he has had to deal with a lot of anger. It almost worked. Ezra's eyes got all red and everything. But he was able to turn away from the shadows and come back to the light. Not many Jedi can be said to have done that.
Ezra has potential to be one of the most powerful Jedi. When she was first introduced, some didn't like her. She was a peppy Padawan who kind of ruined canon. For example, it's hard to imagine while watching Revenge of the Sith that Anakin ever had an apprentice.
Still, Tano's growth as a Jedi has been impressive. She's dueled Asajj Ventress and Darth Vader, helped start the Rebel Alliance, and become something more than the Jedi she started out as. Depa Billaba is an incredibly awesome Jedi that not many people may know about. Billaba saved Dume's life when the Jedi Purge began, sacrificing her own life in the process.
Caleb Dume then grew up to be the Jedi known as Kanan Jarrus. Billaba's memory lived on in Jarrus and what he taught his own apprentice. Ben Solo had a huge legacy to live up to, and while his time as a Jedi-in-training was short, he was probably one of the most powerful.
Ben came from a strong line of Force users. His maternal grandfather was Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One of years past. Luke Skywalker, his uncle, could sense the raw power in Ben Solo. It's a shame Solo turned the power within him against the Light. As the spark of what would become such an expansive universe, Luke Skywalker quickly became much more than just a fan-favorite; he became one of the galaxy's most powerful Jedi Knights and there's more than enough legendary moments to prove it.
Luke's path to becoming a Jedi Knight is well-known, so there's not much merit in covering the entire story. It is worth noting, however, that his journey was set in stone by his father and former Jedi legend, Anakin Skywalker. While it's true that Luke's Jedi training was driven primarily by the quest to take down the Empire, it eventually became about much more than that.
When it seemed as though everyone, including all remaining Jedi, had given up on Anakin, Luke Skywalker still managed to find light within his father.
Their connection through the force was obviously as strong as that of any two characters, helping Luke not just turn his father, but turn the tide of the rebellion and defeat Palpatine and the Empire. Luke's strength with the force and as a Jedi warrior was obviously shaped and solidified during the events of Empire Strikes Back. During that film, as he trains on Dagobah with Master Yoda, Luke has the vision that alerts him to the trouble that Han Solo, Leia, and Chewbacca have gotten themselves into on Cloud City.
Yoda makes clear that this vision is essentially a premonition of the force, showing Luke a potential future. Despite countless suggestions to stay and complete his training, Luke travels to help his friends against the might of Darth Vader. Although it seems like an obvious decision, it was one that very few Jedi could've made and quietly took an incredible amount of strength for Luke to postpone his training and save those closest to him.
In creating a new Jedi Temple to train the next generation of Jedi, Luke effectively kept the Jedi Order alive for a time. Although his temple would eventually fall and he'd seek exile on Ahch-To, it was clear that Luke was destined to be a Jedi Master and responsible for maintaining the principles and order of the Jedi. Luke's time training future Jedi including his nephew Ben Solo is far more detailed in the comics than it is during any of the three sequel films.
In terms of training future Jedi, there's arguably no one more important that Luke trained than Rey. Considering he had fully accepted his quiet new life in exile, it took a fair amount of convincing for Luke to even get on board with training her. However, it carried far more importance for the future of the Jedi than it originally seemed. With the Jedi Order basically erased from existence, Rey presented Luke with a second chance. She gave him the chance to succeed where he had previously failed, and avoid the mistakes he had made with his nephew.
Kylo and Rey. The family ties were the biggest plot twists in the original trilogy, and everything else was secondary. So, when the new trilogy began with The Force Awakens , fans naturally assumed that the new central characters would also be connected to the Skywalker name In a heartwrenching scene, Kylo tells Rey that her parents were simply drunk junkers who sold her on Jakku, and who are now both deceased and buried in the desert. For fans who have spent a long time speculating about Rey's origins as another potential Skywalker, Solo, Kenobi, or other legacy family, it was jarring to realize that this wasn't going to happen.
However, that is a big part of the point; The Last Jedi chooses to make a clear statement about the ability of anyone to become a hero , from maintenance worker Rose Kelly Marie Tran to 'nobody' Rey, to the final shots of 'Broom Boy'. It's very likely that this challenge to the traditional Star Wars Skywalker-obsession may also mean that a Skywalker is not the most powerful force user in the universe, as well.
While there is obviously some debate over who is currently the most powerful Jedi in the Star Wars universe, Luke Skywalker is usually one of the top contenders; not least because he has been the central figure of the films for so long. George Lucas himself has said that Luke is the most powerful Jedi ever, although there is some disagreement about just how reliable Lucas would be as a source on the current state of the Star Wars franchise now that it is owned by Disney.
It's also worth noting that Lucas has also reportedly said that Anakin would have been more powerful than his son had he remained on the Light Side, and that his comments on Luke's powers came before Rey's emergence in the Star Wars world.
