Comment by tiel Horde side, he is located in the large horde building building is called The Filthy Animal , entrance is at Go inside and he is inside the small cooking room at Comment by Iraye This is how I belive Nomi and his work orders work.

You place a workorder with any type of food and then you get a recipe that uses the same kind of food that you made the workorder with.

This would mean that if you already have all recipes from the food you use you don't get anything. I placed alot of workorders with the same kind of food but then I didn't go back until they where all done so I got around of the same recipe and had do delete all except the one I used. For the feasts my guess would be that you can get a feast recipe from any kind of food that is used to make it but probably with a smaller chans then the normal once.

This morning I created an experiment where I placed 1 workorder with each kind of food I had except 2 kinds that I placed a bunch of workorders with in order to see if the recipes I'll get will correspond to my theory, but as of right now I still need to wait for 6 more to finish before I can finalize the experiment.

There are only certain recipes that Nomi will produce for you. The charts below outline where many of the Legion recipes come from. Nomi will never produce a recipe that has a different source e. Drop, Quest, etc. The Rank 1 recipes will differ in source, as listed below, but Rank 2 and Rank 3 recipes are obtained by submitting work orders with Nomi.

Nomi will only produce recipes that correspond to the materials you use for Work Orders - the raw material submitted will have a potential to unlock recipes that use that particular ingredient. For this reason, it is also important to use a variety of materials for Work Orders. If you want to try and maximize the Rank 2 and 3 recipes for all foods, you need to use a variety of ingredients to ensure that many recipes could potentially be produced.

If you are targeting a specific recipe, only submit Work Orders for the ingredients for that food For example, if you really wanted Recipe: Barracuda Mrglgagh Rank 3 , submit only Black Barracuda and Leyblood Work Orders to increase chances of getting that particular recipe!

Slice of Bacon Work Orders are NOT required to obtain the feast recipes, though - a variety of raw ingredients that are used in that recipe will have a potential to yield them. Nomi will never produce a recipe that you already have. This is an important point and has a major implication: Check your Work Orders as often as possible! If you have a recipe waiting for you, learning it ASAP will take it out of the "pool" of recipes that future Work Orders can produce.

In many cases, people that let a whole bunch of Work Orders stack up before collecting them will have multiples of the same recipes, which is wasted potential! Collecting and learning recipes often will ensure you do not get duplicates, but instead may get the Rank 2 or Rank 3 version instead!

If you have to be away from game for an extended period of time and cannot check Work Orders frequently, simply start Work Orders each for a wide variety of different reagents - this will lessen the chance of repeat recipes. Nomi will not produce a Rank 2 recipe if you do not know the Rank 1 of that recipe.

Further, he will not produce a Rank 3 recipe unless you have learned the Rank 2 version of the recipe. This can be used to your advantage if you have no interest in some foods. For example, if you want to only learn the Haste buff foods, you can do so, and submit appropriate Work Orders to level the ranks up. By not learning the Rank 1 version of other foods, you will prevent those from being produced in your Work Orders. This is a way to more precisely target certain recipes.

Rank 3 recipes are quite rare, and may take many Work Orders placed before you get them. Remember that the Rank 3 of a recipe will not spawn unless you have learned the Rank 2 version of that specific recipe.

Given the very low drop rate, it is very likely you will have obtained all the Rank 2 recipes for your various dishes before you get many of the Rank 3 versions for anything. What do the different ranks of recipes do? Each recipe has 3 ranks, which will either increase yields or decrease crafting costs for food For individual buff foods, Rank 1 produces 5 pieces of food, Rank 2 produces 7 pieces, and Rank 3 produces 10 pieces. For feasts, Rank 1 requires 5 of various dishes, Rank 2 requires 4 of each dish, and Rank 3 requires 3 of each dish.

Comment by Jornak It feels extremely frustrating to shower him in raw materials and keep receiving burnt food. Especially since they are work orders that take time. If I have to wait this long, I want to get more than some grey vendor trash.

I'd rather cook hundreds of meals myself, to randomly discover a recipe, than to be disappointed time and again, after a four hour wait. And I don't know if there's a scenario where he just can't give you a recipe not having unlocked rank 1 or something , but I would appreciate it, if he'd tell me "I don't know any recipe for that just now", instead of wasting time.

Not even materials, but time. Comment by hmrhead All that cooking I taught you back in MoP. HTAF do you continuously research burnt food?

Comment by natassja72 Am I the only one who was sure all throughout Mists of Pandaria that Nomi is a little Pandaren girl? And since many of you mention the beard - yes, I had in fact found it quite creepy, back during MoP, that a little girl wanted to grow one. Comment by jackd3th Anyone else having problems with duplicate recipes?

Twice now when I check in with Nomi and he has more than one work order ready I have received two of the same rank of a recipe. Comment by Grotuk What's the point of a vendor who only sells recipes if you've already learned them?
